Vegas Gold 11  Orange 5 (did not get to see a lot of this game)

Vegas Gold remains unbeaten following an 11-5 win over orange last night.  The game was closer than the final score indicated.  Kaden Coulter was out sick last night but Cody Schaeffer did a nice job in his fill in role last night.  Bob set Peach up for a nice goal in the 2nd period to put Vegas Gold up 7-4 and they gradually pulled away. Coltyn snuck a couple shots past orange goalie Tony Conforto early in the 3rd perod.  Bob and Peach led the way offensively in the first period for Gold while Rob Reed added a couple early goals for Orange. Jason Stamler scored in the 2nd period to draw his team to within 2 goals, but Cody Schaeffer and Vegas Gold kept orange off the board in the 3rd period.  Orange was missing Alex Waddell while Vegas Gold was missing Fred Terwilliger.

Black 14  Green 6

Noah and team Black got back on track last night with a 14-6 win over team green.   They led fairly comfortably from start to finish and pulled away in the 3rd period to improve to 2-0-1 on the season.    Noah got the scoring started early in the game and played a large part in a lot of their offense throughout the game.  Troy Gaydosh had a nice night offensively as well with at least 3 or 4 goals.  Joe Roush set Gaydosh up for a nice goal early in the first period and Noah later set him up for another when the game was still fairly close.  Laken and Braxton each had a couple goals throughout the game as well.  Zach Foradori filled in for a missing Jay Edmiston and scored the first goal for Green to pull them to within 3-1 midway thru the first period.  Black found themselves up 6-1 in the 2nd period but Green quietly hung within striking distance throughout the 2nd period.  Vinnie, Brian, Dave Jewell and Zach Foradori scored 2nd period goals to draw them to within 3 goals on a number of different occasions, but they never drew closer.   Black scored 5 unanswered goals in the 3rd period to pull away.  Cody Schaeffer was goalying his 2nd straight game and was set up for failure with team black getting several odd man breaks throughout the game.  Adam, the winning goalie last night, is working on trying to put a competitive XHL team together this winter.  He certainly finds himself in a good situation with the teammates surrounding him in this fall league.

Blue 11  White 8

It looked like we were in for another blowout in last nights finale.  Led by Andy and Ben Rossi, team white found themselves up 6-1 early in the game.  Clint and team Blue was able to settle into the game and gradually worked themselves back into the game.  Zach Smith tied the game at 1 early but white scored the next 5 goals to go up 6-1 against Zach Smith and company.  To make matters worse, team blue was playing ironman.   As expected, Zach Smith played a part in team blue’s comeback, but he had plenty of help from the guys who were present last night.  For a 2nd consecutive week, Cody Haag scored 4 times, including a couple in the 2nd period which saw Blue climb all the way back to tie the game at 7.  Jaron Buffone also played a part in the comeback by not only scoring a couple, but also setting Zach Smith up for the go ahead goal in the 3rd period which saw Blue go up by 3 goals at one point in the 3rd period.   Bubba made some good saves for white early in the 3rd period but Blue was able to gain some separation on good passing in the 3rd period. Anthony Schuckers had a couple goals in the game as well.  Josh Clontz made his debut for white and scored a late 3rd period goal but it was one of the few times Clint made a mistake after a 6 goal onslaught against him at the beginning of the game.  Rumor has Clint, Zach Smith and Brandon Reiter forming an XHL team this winter.  It looks like Zach and Clint have enough help around them to make a run at a championship in this league.    Blue was missing Morgan Lyons last night while white was missing John Matchock.
