Invaders 16 Venom 4 Brandon Reiter’s goal with 5 seconds left officially clinched the mercy rule win for the Invaders in last nights finale. The goal was Reiter’s 5 th of the night in what he hopes will get him back to scoring more goals as playoffs soon approach. Opportunities have been there for him all season long, but he has brought out the best in the opposing competition and the goalies this season. Opposing teams can only hope that last nights 5 goal night won’t

More Interviews from February 23rd
Adam (Yeti) 1. 7-6 win last night. What can you say about the overall team effort in the win? The effort was great the entire game. We had a few moments where we let our guard down, allowing for a couple quick strikes, but the guys fought back and kept us in the game. 2. You were down 5 to 1 in the 2nd period. How do you think you were able to turn the game around? The guys just never got down. We felt that we were in the game and had a chance, even being down by 4. 3. No Ben

Yeti rally for 7-6 shootout win This didn’t feel like a normal game. The Yeti didn’t even know if they would have enough players when the 620 p.m. game horn sounded. A couple of their players thought they would need to make a trip back to Kittanning, but after 45 minutes of hockey, a 5 minute overtime and what felt like a 45 minute shootout, the Yeti found a way to prevail. In Bob’s post game interview, he mentioned that Yeti lost a lot of skill from previous seasons, but

Match played another good game in net for the colonials and was a big reason why the shootout went on and on. RJ scored twice in regulation and once in the shootout to help the yeti prevail. Brian Anderson may have had his most complete game in net last night. Troy Gaydosh was all over the court for the Venom while the Eagles had some good connections between Denny, Amick and Llewellyn. Brandon Reiter and Zach Smith each contributed a couple goals for the Eagles. Solid

Clinker's Corner!
1. 7-5 win over the Colonials last night. What can you say about the overall team effort in the win? Team effort was great like usual! We put ourselves out of position on a couple goals chasing the ball but overall I thought we played a solid game! 2. It was a game of momentum swings. How enjoyable was it to play such a big part in the win and how would you describe the game overall? I love games like that! Its what makes hockey fun! Game could've went either way! Bounce

Joe Spencer (Fill in for Venom, Bear Claw and Yeti) 1. 3 games of hockey last night. How are you feeling today? I feel great today. I appreciate the opportunity to get some work in. Wish I could’ve played better for the teams I played for but the ball is not a puck and unfortunately that’s my big downfall. 2. Venom fell 12-4 to the yeti. How would you describe the team effort overall and what words of encouragement can you give to the regular guys (and girl) that’s on t

25 years older than he was when the XHL first started, Adam continues to do his thing. Jeremy Johnson had the most impressive goal of the night, Cory had a big goal for the Invaders, Noah scored twice and set Brian up for another while Phil Mace added two goals. Match faced a lot of shots and made a lot of good saves to keep the Colonials in the game while finding enough energy to skate out for the Bear Claw afterwards. RJ followed up his big goal against the Eagles by da

Reiter's Perspective
1. You are on a 3 game winning streak after your win against the yeti on Monday. How do you think you guys did in that game? I think we played well and continue to improve as a team each week. 2. They are a little bit of a new look team compared to the last couple seasons. What was your impression of them? They still have some of the players we are used to seeing and they made some nice additions to fill out their roster. I don’t think we saw their best that night. 3. You got

Foradori's Final Thoughts
1. You got to celebrate another birthday yesterday. Did you do anything special to celebrate it? No I never really do anything for my birthday 2. You had your first game with the Invaders on Monday. What was your impression of them? They’re quick and have scorers but there’s always a way to beat someone. 3. The team started out slow but had a pretty solid finish. What do you think went wrong at the beginning of the game and what do you think you guys did better as the gam

Colonials 6 Eagles 4 Match could not make it for the colonials last night, but Bob and company put their confidence in Brian instead of trying to get Derrian or Braxton to fill in for this game. Match will be welcome back for the rest of the season in net, but the Colonials got just enough from Brian in net last night along with some really good defensive play to put together a hard fought win against a good team last night. The biggest difference in this game could have

Foradori's Final Thoughts
1. You guys picked up a 17-5 win over the Venom on Monday. How do you think you guys looked overall? Spotty, but it’s hard to really care playing games like that. 2. Invaders are next. What have you observed from them so far and what kind of game are you expecting? They have holes just like every other team. We aren’t the Yeti everyone was used to seeing the last couple years but we do still have Adam so we always have a chance. 3. Eagles lost by 6 goals to the Invaders o

Invaders 10 Eagles 4 The Invaders got some revenge and picked up their 2 nd straight win in the process. Following a close 6-5 win over the Colonials last week, the Invaders did not want a repeat of what happened in their game against the Eagles 2 weeks ago. Last nights game started in similar fashion with the Invaders scoring the first two goals to go up 2-0 late in the first period. Andy and Zach Smith scored the first period goals for the Invaders but Eric Llewellyn s

1. 6-5 win over the Colonials last night. What can you say about the team effort in the win? The team effort was great, everyone had big individual games and the team plays to help us win. 2. What can you say about Clint’s play last night? Clint’s been playing the best I’ve seen him play. Over the years our teams especially me have picked on him quite a bit but that might just fade away if he keeps this up! 3. Yourself, Brandon, Cory and Zach on the same line. How do you

1. You got to fill in last night. How are you feeling today following all the skating around last night? Surprisingly, I feel good. Between snow removal, snowboarding, then hockey, I thought I was going to be sore, but I feel good. 2. You had no answer for Troy and Cody last night. What do you think wrong on the defensive side? Off the top of my head there was some miscommunication, some ball chasing, some dropped coverage, we will have to get a look at the game film to know

1. 16-4 win over the Venom last night. What can you say about the overall team effort in the win? I think the overall team effort was solid. There is a lot I can add but all of that is answer to subsequent questions.....so, on to question 2 2. No Bob last night. How do you think the team did in his absence last night? The team effort last night demonstrated that the team can still click without having what was our primary "possession" players along with losing another skater

Foradori's Final Thoughts
1. You guys poured it on after finding yourselves down by 2 goals late in the 2nd period. What do you think you guys did better at as the game went on? It seemed like we kept getting bunched up not knowing where everyone was going to be. Which is typical for guys that haven’t played together much if at all. But we started to figure everyone out as the game went on and the floor opened up 2. Matt Jewell is only 10 years old, but he has already contributed 4 goals on the seas
