The Hooligans scored two goals in the final 1:35 to earn a dramatic come-from-behind victory over the Colonials 8-7 Monday night. The Hooligans improve to 3-1 while the Colonials dropped to 1-3.

The Colonials have played in all one-goal games so far this season and dropped the last two in the final seconds of the game. Last week, Derik Day scored with :45 seconds remaining. This week, Cory Schuckers scored his fourth of the game with :30 seconds left to earn the win. Schuckers also added a pair of assists to lead the Hooligans.

Jerred Amick played his best game in a Colonials jersey, scoring 4 goals as well. Amick’s goal with 1:35 to go gave the Colonials a 7-6 lead that it surrendered on the next face-off when Eric Llewellyn beat two defenders to slide the ball into the net while diving to the floor. Llewellyn pitched in three goals and an assist.

Both goalies, James Nelson and Tim Herman, stopped 23 shots in what was a back-and-forth game. In addition to Amick’s five points, Bob Anderson also tallied 2 goals and 3 assists for the Colonials.

5 players score goals to help Renegades improve to 5-0

In all around team effort, the Renegades picked up a 10-2 win over the Lazers in the 8 p.m. game Monday night. The Renegades are now 5-0 on the season. Mike Lehman, Pat Hunter, Denny Stinchcomb, Joe Spencer and Derrian Matchock each had 2 goals, while 6 different players had at least one assist. Even more impressive was their netminder, Josh Clontz, making some solid saves, 27 overall, to keep the Renegades in control throughout. The Renegades were up 4-0 in the later stages of the 2nd period before Brandon Reiter was finally able to get one by Josh Clontz to get the Lazers within 4-1. Shortly afterwards, Reiter hit the post in what could have got the Lazers within 4-2, instead, Mike Lehman got one by Henry Sutter to put the Renegades up 5-1 going into the 3rd period. 5 Renegade goals in the 3rd period put the game well out of reach. Henry Sutter filled in for Jeremy Lee and made 46 saves in the losing effort. Dakota Gasbarre added the other goal for the Lazers, who fell to 0-5 on the season. The Xtreme will await both teams, with the Lazers taking their turn next week and the Renegades getting their turn the following week. The Renegades will get to sit home next week. Just a reminder, there will be no games on Monday, May 28th. Games will be played on Wednesday, May 30th.
