1. You played 2 games of hockey on Monday. How are you feeling following those games? I was pretty tired but still felt good to get the exercise.

2. It didn’t seem like you had enough time to work your way into the game filling in for the bear claw on Monday. When you were out there, did you like the added challenge of trying to keep the team in the game? Yes I did like the challenge. I don’t know that I was very successful with it though.

3. What did you observe from some of the young guys that were playing on that team? They have speed and def some hockey IQ. For sure some players that can make some noise in the league if they keep playing.

4. You got back on the scoring track Monday with 5 goals against the Venom on Monday. Has it been discouraging at all for you not scoring as many goals as you are used to scoring? Kind of….I feel like I have had plenty of looks and just can’t cash in as frequently as I have in the past. Part of it might be that I probably need a new stick, so that will be my excuse for now. But I try not to just worry about scoring goals, I have helped drive offense in other ways with passing and getting shots towards the net, and we have been winning…I try to keep the whole picture in mind.

5. Yeti continue to win despite the new look roster this season. What was your impression of them after seeing them beat the Eagles on Monday? They seem to be the hottest team in the league right now. I’m sure quite a few people thought they wouldn’t be as good this year given the changes to their roster, the thought crossed my mind being they lost Day and Smith. But when you start with a foundation of Jewell on D and Doc in goal, thats a pretty exceptional foundation for an XHL team. The the rest of the team is rounded out with guys that play hard on both ends and that can be hard to deal with.

6. Venom played hard against you guys on Monday. What words of encouragement can you offer them after playing against them? As far as a mercy rule, most have been there at some point. Some, including myself, played at a time when there was no mercy rule. I always try to go in with a mindset that the team I’m on is going to compete no matter the opponent, and I think they did that. Then if the game gets away from you, focus on small wins…like not allowing the opponent a shutout, getting more shots on net, trying to win the period, etc.

7. U.S. over Canada. I keep asking people the same thing. Whats your opinion on the 3 on 3 overtime format? I love 3 on 3. It is very exciting to me, much more exciting than a shootout. With the Olympics, the gold medal game was the only game I watched, and I had no idea it was 3 on 3 for overtime until it happened. That surprised me, but I didn’t hate it. I likely stay traditional and keep a championship/playoff type game 5 on 5 for overtime if it’s up to me. But the 3 on 3 format was the rule going into the Olympics, teams should have been prepared for it, was there any uproar before the tournament started? There would not have been from me, I’d rather end an Olympic game 3 on 3 than a shootout.

8. Are you planning on trying to play in the SRHL this summer or do you think you will only be able to do the Randy Carlson tournament? That will depend on the Little League schedule when it comes out. It would be nice to get some summer games in, but baseball season usually dictates me being elsewhere most of the time. It usually ends up being that I have some nights available to play, but a couple games shy of being playoff eligible, so I don’t end up bothering with it at all.

9. Speaking of the Randy Carlson tournament ---- did you like it better when it was held in the winter in Reynoldsville or do you like the outdoor atmosphere better in Brockway? I very much like the outdoor atmosphere when it comes to this tournament.

10. Between work life and family life, you probably don’t get a lot of time for yourself. Do you look forward to hockey on Mondays or does it sometimes feel like it chore? I always look forward to hockey.
