Dodd 6 Matchock 5 OT

John Matchock informed us that he probably wont be back for the remaining of this league’s session. There is a possibility that Tim Herman will take his place for the 1 remaining regular season game and the double elimination playoff session. We were able to get Henry Sutter to fill in and for 40 minutes, he repeated what John Matchock did the first time these 2 teams meant. Jerred Amick took another week off to recover from an illess but Andy Calvert took his spot last night and scored what looked like would be a clinching goal with around 5 minutes to go in the 3rd period to put team Matchock up 5-2. No one scored in the first period until Brice Miller scored late in the first period to put Matchock’s team up 1-0. The game remained 1-0 until Cory Schuckers found Bob Anderson in front of the net late in the 2nd period to tie the game at 1. Brice Miller would score again to put Team Matchock team up 2-1. Laken Dodd made it 3-1 just as the 3rd period began and Brice Miller made it 4-1 soon after. Cory Schuckers would score for Team Dodd to make it 4-2 but Andy scored soon after to make it 5-2 with around 5 minutes to go. Team Dodd was able to rally in those last 5 minutes. It started when Cory Schuckers found Brian Anderson open in front of the net to make it 5-3. Less than a minute later, Bob Anderson skated past Matt Cole and beat Henry Sutter to make it 5-4. Bob Anderson found Cory Schuckers late in the 3rd period to tie the game at 5. Tony Dodd made a big save with less than a minute to push the game into overtime. 2 minutes into overtime, Cory Schuckers found himself on a breakaway and he too was able to beat Henry Sutter to give Team Dodd a 6-5 overtime win. Team Dodd is now 3 and 4 on the season while Team Matchock fell to 1-5-1.

Sutter 7 McKinley 5

Team Sutter has won 3 in a row following a 2 game losing streak in the middle of the season. With the game tied at 5 late in the 3rd period last night, Steve Pompeii found himself with a little room to skate and took a long shot that found its way by Adam McKinley to put Sutter’s team ahead to stay. Prior to that shot, Adam McKinley was in a really good groove that kept his team in the game in the 2nd and 3rd period. Following the Pompeii shot, Brian Pangallo (Team McKinley) was penalized with 2 minutes to go. Team McKinley actually got a couple good shots while shorthanded to tie the game late, but Henry Sutter denied them. An insurance goal with 5 seconds left sealed the win. Kevin Smith got the scoring started early in the game and finished with 4 goals overall. Brenden Chesley and Steve Pompeii contributed the other goals. Team McKinley found its way back from a 4-1 deficit in the 2nd period to eventually tie the game at 5 before falling at the end. Nate Galentine had the 5th goal that tied it up at 5. Eric Llewellyn and Jake Kline (Alex Waddell fill in) scored goals during that run to tie the game. Zach Foradori scored in the first period to draw them within a goal at 2-1 going into the 2nd period. Team McKinley is now 3-4 on the season.

Team Lingenfelter 11 Team Scyoc 3

Did not get to watch any of this game. Team Scyoc was missing their goalie (Brad Scyoc). Tony Dodd filled in. Adam McKinley filled in for a missing Steve Hetrick. The win for Team Lingenfelter improved them to 6-0-1 on the season and earned them the top seed in the double elimination playoffs that will start on November 28th. See more below for the regular season standings with one regular season week left to go:
