Clink's Corner

1. 11-2 win over the Yeti last night. What can you say about the overall team effort in the win?  The effort is always there! Everybody skates hard every single game and its showing! Great team win!

 2. The game was close for 25 minutes or so, then you guys pulled away. What do you think you guys did better at as the game went on?  I just think we wore them down with our constant pressure! Limited their zone time and I thought our possession game got better as the game went on!

3. Another big goal scoring night from Andy. Whats it like being his teammate as opposed to being his opponent? Andy's always been and always will be a top scorer! His hockey IQ is stout and he when hes on, he picks whatever corner he wants! Glad I dont have to face him much!

4. What kind of hockey future do you think Matt Jewell has?  I think Matt will go far! Ive heard hes much better at ice than he is with a ball! Hes definitely a hustler! Skates hard all the time! Once he gets some size to him, we'll really be able to see what he can do!

 5. Number 1 seed and most likely a series against the Eagles coming up in a few weeks. Do you think their win over the Colonials is a good wake up call for you guys going into that potential series?   I wouldnt say its a wake up call! Theres 4 teams that can easily win on any given night! Just depends who gets hot come playoffs! Every game against them has been fun to play in! Ill be excited for that challenge!

 6. How would you compare this season with the invaders to the last 3 seasons playing on the knights?  Very similar tbh! I feel like our style of play hasn't changed, just a few new faces that have meshed in well with our old core!

 7. Yeti were without Jeff last night. What kind of difference maker do you think he could have been for them last night?   Jeff is a great player! He always gives 100% and has a pretty good shot! Reason why I added him to my team in Brockway!

8. How satisfying was it for you to shut Zach Foradori out from the goal scoring department last night?  Its hard to get real satisfied about shutting down one of the worst players in the league! Dude cant hit the net to save his life!

 9. Colonials appear to still be transitioning despite 9 games into the season now. Are you surprised at some of their struggles? Ya, a little bit! Things could easily change on a dime for them but looking at teams in the past. Just because you have good players playing together doesn't necessarily mean its gonna work out as a team!

10. What other random thoughts are going through your head right now? Most definitely liking the moves the Steelers are making! I really liked Gainwell but I think Dowdle will be just as good! They need to make the decision at QB though! Either run with Howard a year or go get someone better!

Jerred Amick (Eagles)

1. 7-4 win over the Colonials last night. What can you say about the overall team effort in the win?  Several players stepped it up when we needed them to and I think everyone had a decent game especially Denny.

 2. You have lost 3 or 4 close games this season. What do you think you guys did better last night than in those close losses you had? I think the colonials approach is the biggest factor. They aren’t good at smothering the opposition or limiting your time with the puck, they sit back and let you regroup and attack. Previous losses felt overwhelming. I think slowing it down and regrouping was the key factor here.

3. They were up 3-1 in the 2nd period. Were you concerned that the game could possibly slip away after they got those 2 quick ones? . We really didn’t panic much or even argue, we seemed to stay calm and there wasn’t any pressure on this game for us coming off a long loosing streak.

4. What can you say about Clay’s play in net for you guys so far this season? . Clay has been solid for us when we needed him to be. Some dumb decisions on our part to put him in bad situations more often than not which is what we really need to clean up for playoffs.

5. Curious on what your opinion is on the 3 on 3 overtime format in the Olympics? . 5v5 continuous ot is probably the best way, except the Canadians lost and they’re butt hurt so it’s easy to bring up a dumb discussion about rules. Why didn’t Hockey Canada appeal the IIHF rules about it before? Oh they only care now because they lost? K.
