Noah, Jake and Brian had a couple goals for the Colonials while Dave Jewell and Jeff Wehner combined for 5 goals for the Yeti. Too many goals to keep track of in the Invaders/Bear Claw game, but Matt Jewell's late 3rd period goal stands out. Eagles appear ready for the playoffs following 2 good wins to end the regular season. Jerred, Eric and Denny each chipped in a couple goals in their 8-3 win over the Venom. Clay continues to play well in net. Tony had a nice stretch of goalying last night as well. Just ask Denny. Below are last nights 3 stars:
#3. AJ Cebulskie --------- If only he could play more regular? 3 goals for the Bear Claw last night.
#2. Brandon Reiter ---- 4 goals in the Invaders 10-9 win over the Bear Claw.
#1. Bob Anderson ----- 3 goals for the Colonials plus 3 goals and nice set ups to Braxton and AJ filling in for the Bear Claw.

Eagles 8 Venom 3
The venom quietly hung around in this game, but the Eagles used a 3 goal first period and a 3 goal 3rd period to set the tone of the game. The first 2 minutes went well for the Eagles with Denny setting up Eric Llewellyn for a quick goal then Denny scored a goal soon after. Venom goalie Tony Conforto made a lot of good saves after the Eagles 2nd goal. In particular, he prevented Denny from scoring a 1st period break away goal. Clay Halpin played another solid game for the Eagles and made it hard for the Venom to get back into the game. Larry scored a late first period goal to make it 3-0 and Jerred Amick would go onto score an early 2nd period goal to make it 4-0. The venom finally got on the board when Jeremy Johnson closed the gap to 4-1 but Eric Llewellyn would go onto score the next goal to make it 5-1. Tyler Waltman scored a late 2nd period goal to close the gap to 5-2 going into the 3rd period. Tony Conforto had a pretty good groove going in net up until the Eagles started to get some by him in the 3rd period. Jerred Amick had a nice goal early in the 3rd period to put the Eagles in control again. Denny would go onto score soon after to make it 7-2. Troy Gaydosh scored a goal for the venom with less than 10 seconds left to close out the scoring. Both teams will be back in action with the Eagles taking on the Bear Claw and the Venom taking on the Yeti. In his first season in several years, Clay Halpin appears ready to help the Eagles make a push in the playoffs. Clay was a part of a couple Maniax championship teams 10 or so years ago. The Eagles were playing ironman last night. The Venom were missing both of the Brittons along with Morgan. Braxton filled in to at least give them a sub for the game. Alex Waddell may have made the best decision of the night by electing to stay home. Austin Boyd was there in a spectator role.
Colonials 10 Yeti 6
The Colonials are back on track following a 10-6 win over the Yeti to close out the regular season. In a way, it’s a bad thing as the win gave them next week off. Following the loss to the Eagles, Bob was saying he should be on the trade block as he thought he played as bad of a game as he could have played. He made up for it by leading the way in goals last night, including a couple first period goals to set the tone for the Colonials. Noah scored a first period goal and set Brian up for a goal late in the first period to keep the Colonials ahead. Dave Jewell’s 2nd goal of the first period tied the game at 2 but the colonials would go onto score the next 2 goals to close out the first period. The Colonials were ahead 6-3 after the 2nd period. Jake and Noah had 2nd period goals for the Colonials while Dave Jewell had another goal for the Yeti. The 3rd period saw a lot more goals. RJ set Jeff Wehner up for a goal to close the gap to 6-4 but unlike the last time these teams played, the Colonials were able to maintain control. Bob would go onto score another 3rd period goal and may have set Brian up for another goal late in the 3rd period. Noah was there to tap it in incase it was not ruled a goal. Jeff would go onto score another 3rd period goal for the Yeti while Zach Foradori added one as well. Fred and Jake each had 3rd period goals for the Colonials. A 6-3 game after 2 periods ended up 10-6. While the colonials never had a great cushion, it was a game in which they led start to finish. Ben Rossi was not present for the Yeti while the Colonials were missing Phil Mace and Jay Edmiston. Adam and Match had their share of action defending their respective nets last night. These 2 teams will meet again in a best of 3 series in 2 weeks from now unless the Venom can find a way to upset the Yeti twice next week.
Invaders 10 Bear Claw 9
With the top seed already clinched, the Invaders wanted a good challenge to get them in tune for the playoffs. Clint ended up having to make a great 3rd period save on Jaron Buffone to prevent overtime. Its too bad AJ Cebulskie had to get a job that prevented him from playing hockey on a regular basis. He was an up and coming player before he had to quit for a while but he has made a good showing in the 3 or 4 times he has filled in for the bear claw this season. Less than a minute into the game, AJ put the Bear Claw ahead 1-0. Soon after, Bob, who filled in for the bear claw last night, set Braxton up for a goal to make it 2-0. Brandon Reiter had a couple first period goals for the Invaders to help put them ahead 4-3 by the end of the first period. Zach Smith had a first period goal as well. The 2nd period saw lots of action, too much to remember. One thing that stood out was a penalty on Coltyn that gave the Invaders a power play opportunity. Out of all people to trip, Coltyn just had to trip Cory of all people. Soon after, AJ got called for a penalty leaving the Bear Claw with Bob and Dave (he filled in for the bear claw as well). They actually did a pretty good job of trying to kill the penalty but the 4 on 2 disadvantage was too much to overcome. Cory’s goal put the Invaders up 5-3. Derrian filled in for a missing Kaden Coulter for the bear claw. It probably wasn’t the most ideal way for him to try to get back into goalie action by playing against the highest scoring team in the league. Neither team led this game by more than 2 goals. Bob would go onto score 2, 2nd period goals for the Bear Claw to help even the score at 7. One of the goals was a nice breakaway. He would later set AJ up for another to give the Bear Claw an 8-7 lead. Jason Stamler scored a 3rd period goal to tie the game at 8 but Dave set Matt up for a goal late in the 3rd period to give the bear claw a 9-8 lead. As mentioned in previous write ups, the Bear Claw can score quick and they did by scoring 2 late 3rd period goals, one of them from Cory, to put them ahead 10-9. Clint made a great save on Jaron late in the game to keep the Invaders in front. Brandon Reiter led the way offensively with 4 goals for the Invaders. The Bear Claw will need to upset the Eagles 2 times next week to keep their season going. The Invaders will await the lowest seeded team left when the semi finals begin in 2 weeks. They are currently on an 8 game winning streak. The Bear Claw had a good mix of veterans with Bob and Dave, some good youth with Jaron, AJ and Braxton and even more youth with Coltyn and Matt.
