Hounds have experienced some goalie growing pains, including last night. What words of encouragement can you give to goalies who struggle at times? They should give up. If you suck now you’re always gonna suck.
What position in baseball do you compare a goalie in hockey too? Not a position because everyone does it but hitting. All odds are against you, these pitchers nowadays throwing 100+ then throwing something 93mph that moves 12 inches is unfair.
Knights improved to 6-0 on the season after beating the Eagles last night. Do you consider Brandon the most unstoppable player in the league? 100%. His size and speed is so hard to do anything against.
If you put yourself on the court and take Clontz out of that Eagles game last night, do you think your presence would have have put the Eagles over the top last night? There’s no doubt in my mind. I left early last night but while I was there all I saw Clontz do was stand beside Clint leaning on his stick waiting for dad (Llew) to give him the ball but even Llew knows not to give it to him in a game like that.
Zac Gray will be making his Eagles debut next week. How do you think he will be able to fit in with those guys? I don’t think it’ll be that great of a fit. He’s more run and gun and the eagles like to slow everything down.
Derrian and Kelsey will be this years Randy Carlson recipients. Do you think having members of the league as the recipients will make this years event the biggest one yet? It should, if you’re not planning on going to support a fellow league mate you’re a piece of trash.
Which sport do you think a coach’s wisdom has the most knowledge in and what sport other than baseball would you want to coach if you could? Football, everything is analytics in football. What play to run against ehat defense, what defense to run against different formations. And the coaches that have been doing it a while seem to have more success. I dominate fantasy football so put me in an NFL front office.
Golf is just around the corner. What courses in the area do you enjoy playing the most? I love OI and Kenterra.
Brockway actually won a few games in basketball this season. Do you think there is hope that they can be good in the upcoming seasons (considering they are a young team)? No, they don’t know how to play defense and the coach just puts his kid at point guard even if there’s better options.
You have to be pretty physically fit to be a successful hockey player. Do you try to exercise or do anything outside of hockey that can keep you in good physical shape on non hockey nights? If drinking beer and eating Doritos is considered exercise then yes.
Setbacks are a part of life and sports. What do you think is the best way to overcome them? My whole life is a setback, just roll with the punches and don’t be a baby. Everything will be alright pumpkin.
You recently started a new job. Do you miss the old job at all and how have you adjusted to life at the new job? The people there sort of, the job itself no. The adjustment isn’t too bad since it’s the same hours doing basically the same thing.
You will have another game with the colonials coming up this season. If you have your full team there, do you think that you guys could finish the job against them this time around? No, always expect the worst so you’re not discouraged when it happens. Then if the opposite happens it’s even better.
Jerred seems to be playing good hockey after his injury ------ Do you miss being teammates with him this season? He’s the only person on that god forsaken team I’d like to play with again, in more ways than one
Canada over the U.S.A. How did McDavid get so wide open in overtime? Defensive lapse. Why Matthew’s went to the corner when Fox was already crashing toward Marner is beyond me
Do you think the NHL or MLB season is too long? MLB yes, pitchers put so much strain on their arms to be doing it every 5 games for 162 of them.
If you could change the NFL kickoff rule, what would you do? Put it back to the way it was. This player safety stuff is so dumb, you’re playing a contact sport and don’t want contact? Then don’t play
Do you like the current NFL overtime rule? I like that both teams get a chance if it’s just a field goal. But in the case of say the Bengals, if you lose the toss you lose the game. A game shouldn’t be decided by a coin flip.
Do you think the NHL should go to a 3, 2, 1 point system? No, if you want the points get better as a team.
Pittsburgh sports are kind of painful to watch now. Which of those teams do you see having the best chance to compete for a championship in the next 3 to 5 years? I’d love to say the pirates with the young talent they have but everyone knows they won’t spend the money to compete. So I’ll say none of them will ever win again in my life time.
Bob Nutting----- What word best describes him? Winner, willing to do whatever it takes to put the best product on the field. That man is for the people!
Politics are controversial these days. What advice do you give to those who are concerned about the direction the country is in? Here’s some advice. Your opinion means nothing. Whatever is going to happen, is going to happen. I’m not political at all, but I don’t go around complaining about who’s in office. It’ll change nothing for me in my every day life. So get over it and in 4 years maybe the person you want in office will win and you’ll be able to listen to everyone else complain
One last question ----- got any other random thoughts you want to throw out there? While I’m here, why do you people feel the need to just completely ruin the league with these super teams you guys put together. XHL and SRHL, it’s the same group of people that are always in the playoffs/championship games. How is that fun? Load up a team to just roll through every team you play against in every league every year. We need diversity in the league, that’s why it’s turning into what it’s turning into. Look what Carnesalis did last year, took the studs from 2 teams and combined them to leave 2 teams out to dry while they tried to beat the Knights and chase a trophy. That trophy means NOTHING, it’s not life or death whether you win it or not. You’re not getting paid big bucks to win it, you’re not getting anything to win it. So why don’t we split some of these big teams up and make the league so much more competitive than it is now with typically 2-3 teams that win every league we do or even every tournament we do. It’s a joke
