What are your final thoughts on the knights winning against the colonials? I believe Clint couldn’t make it and Ray Charles subbed in net for them. Good thing the team showed up, huh? I think Bob did everything he could to load up his team to try to beat them. The Knights are lucky Henry is awful at what he does but at least from what I see he has fun sucking horribly except when he’s slamming his stick off his face. I think Clint’s save percentage is in the single digits on the year and Jake’s is in the 90’s so that explains a lot why they had Ray fill in because they knew he’d do just as good as Clint. The only thing Clint is good for is when the ball hits 14 people before it gets to the net and barely rolls to him he covers it then does that cool little “I’m gonna hit the ball into the corner because I’m really good at this” every time he covers it. I think I could play goalie for the Knights blindfolded without any pads and they would still be undefeated.
Usually the ice at the Rollerdrome is in good shape but lots of people were falling, did you think there was some bad ice out there tonight? Or did you oil up your elbows again? There’s many things on me that are always oiled up, but my elbows were not tonight. I think some of these people that “play” over there need to learn how to skate before they think they can play hockey. I’m not the best skater and never claimed to be but jeez if I’m skating past you, you’ve got some problems out there.
Adam says you crop-dusted him and that’s why the shutout was broken, otherwise he was locked in. In Adam’s post game interview, he said that you’d get more shots on him if you’d stop trying to dangle, that “he’s seen better hands on a snake” than you. Final thoughts on that? Hey I’ll do anything for a slight advantage on the court. Crop-dust or not a goal is a goal. Maybe if he would stay in position and not go 30 feet out of the net just so he can touch the ball every once in a while he wouldn’t have so many goals against. He’s lucky he had Cody back there on D or I woulda sniped him more times than he would get birthday spankings this year with how old he is.
Eagles had a bye this week. Quiet night at the rink. It just wasn’t a regular XHL night, wasn’t it? Not a whole lot of screaming and hollering at the rink. The most aggression was when I heard Mr. Anderson call someone a little stinker. Do you miss participating in the meltdowns? I live for the meltdowns. That’s quality entertainment. There’s nothing better than 30+ year old men playing in a rec hockey league that think they’re making a name for themselves there. Like the Baby Penguins are there and have a spot on the roster to fill. But post game was boring, normally there’s some chirps flying around which for the record I have never and will never partake in. On the other hand is Mr. Anderson called me a “little stinker” I honestly think I’d go home afterwards and contemplate my meaning in life. There’s low blows, then there’s that. I just can’t believe something like that would come out of his mouth.
In a recent interview, Clint mentioned that he is upset that you keep running your mouth non-stop like a refrigerator and that “you sit down to pee like a girl”. He says you are lucky they don’t play the Bear Claw again, final thoughts? Any team can come beat us 12-0 it doesn’t really matter to me, ask Llew and Cody. I’m just there for the camaraderie. Clint needs to get his own game in check before he starts calling me out like that, I’ll rip him to shreds if he ever says anything like that again. And yeah, maybe I do sit down to pee. When you skate as hard and play as hard as I do, your legs need a little break every now and then. But he just gets to lean on the crossbar all game every game because the team knows they have basically a cripple back there playing net. I heard his favorite football player is Caleb Williams and he color coordinates his fingernail colors with what Caleb does. Him, Zach Smith, Walt and Denny get together every weekend to make sure all their nails are in tip top shape. Maybe that’s why the Knights keep picking him up, maybe they’re all into that kind of stuff.
You have got a taste of the yeti, knights, eagles and colonials. What are your thoughts on each of those teams: I think they’re all extremely overrated. The Yeti are old and rely on Doc pitching a shut out almost every week just to have a chance in games. The Knights rely on no shots getting to Clint or they’ll never stand a chance against anyone. The Colonials need Bob to go beast mode every week, which we haven’t seen too much of because the only person on that team that plays back is Fred. And the Eagles, don’t even get me started. If you put a team together of 4 competent hockey players that played with opposite handed sticks and used them upside down they would dog walk the Eagles.
You were reunited with Amick for a game. Did it feel like Christmas all over again getting to be his teammate again: I love playing with Jerred. But he needs to stop giving me the ball when Zach Smith is coming 100 miles an hour at me because I’m losing the ball 100% of the time. He should know this by now.
If you could pick any xhl player to build a team around, who would you pick and why: Probably Noah, great offensive talent, good speed and is willing to play in the defensive zone if needed.
What positives what can you take out of these last couple games: I’m alive, I think everyone has a bounty out on my head.
Out of all the organized league teammates you have had, who do you think you had the best connections with on the court: No one, I was a one man show on all the teams. But I’ve played with a lot of people that it’s hard not to have a connection with. Lots of good players that if you just hit their stick with a pass they can do a lot of damage.
Randy Carlson event coming up. If you could change anything about the organization of the event, what would you change: I think you all do a great job running that event. I know I couldn’t do any better. It would make for a slightly longer day but a 3rd/4th place game could be fun to see.
Pens have had several years without playoff success. Do you think it’s time for a coaching change: I think they should have gotten rid of Sullivan last year. With the talent they have even though they’re old you shouldn’t be this bad.
Steelers have gone several years without playoff success, do you think it’s time for a change: A change in style yes, they haven’t been able to push the ball down the field since Big Ben left. This run the ball on 1st and 2nd down then try to throw a prayer up on 3rd clearly isn’t working.
Most heart breaking pro sports moment as a fan: Rashard Mendenhall fumble in the Super Bowl.
If you could pick a city to have an nfl franchise, what city would you pick (a city that doesn’t currently have a team) Cleveland… oh wait they have one. St Louis should get a team back.
How do you handle criticism in the work place and with family and friends: I love it. Bring it on baby.
Pro sports all star games have become a joke. Do you know what could be done to try to fix them to make them watchable again: The NFL needs to put pads back on those guys. It’s a contact sport that’s why people watch it, no one cares that the NFC beats the AFC 700-688 in the pro bowl. I hate the NBA so I don’t really have an opinion on that, they just throw it from one 6’7 guy to another 6’7 guy and they jump and place the ball in the hoop. How is that entertaining? The MLB all star game I get why pitchers only throw an inning or whatever and I’ve always loved the home run derby, there’s not much you can change about it without risking injury to some of the best arms in the sport.
Got any other random thoughts regarding the XHL: How long do you have? There’s always thoughts going through my mind. Some I can’t say about some people in the league but god do I want to, just to see all hell break loose.
