Postgame Interviews ------ 8/13
Josh Clontz ---------- Mixed Feelings about Monday night's action against Hooligans:
1. 2 games of xhl playoff hockey under your belt. How are you feeling? I'm tired now but I feel good. Two games against the hooligans is a lot for one night, but I felt good throughout both of them 2. Game 1 got away. What do you think went wrong in that final stretch? I think there were a few things we needed to be doing different and they just were pushing hard, they capitalized on a lot of opportunities. 3. Are there any goals in that 1st game you wish you could have back? Lewy's wrap around. I did not expect him to get through the traffic behind the net and I never slid across to cover the other post. It was a good play on his part and a lazy one on mine. 4. The team responded in game 2. What do you think the team did better ? Everything. We set the pace, backchecked, covered there cherry pickers, all in all we just controlled that game. 5. Game 3 wednesday. Are you excited, nervous or a little bit of both? I'm not at all nervous, but I am excited for Wednesday's game!
Pat Hunter --------------- Renegades redeem themselves in game 2:
1. Tough game 1 loss in overtime last night. How discouraging was it to lose control of the game that late? Definitely discouraging. We had the lead all game and then had some break downs at the end of the game that lead to us losing. Number 8 and 6 made us pay for the mistakes we made so props to them. 2. What do you think went wrong in that final stretch of game 1? I think we got caught puck watching too much and didn't do our best covering guys. 3. Game 2 was a different story. What do you think the team did better in that 2nd game? We were able to get a nice lead on them and managed to keep it and not look back. We had a lot of power plays that helped us out but i expect a much closer game Wednesday. 4. Hows your body feeling following 2 games of hockey? Not too bad, legs were feeling the effects last night after the 2nd game but the day off between games is going to be huge for everybody obviously. 5. Game 3 tomorrow night with a trip to the finals at stake. What kind of game are you expecting? I'm expecting a close game. Those guys came to play last night and really took it to us the first game so I expect the same thing Wednesday.
Jadon Stuart --------- 2 goals in 2nd period to help Knights get within 1 game of finals berth:
1. 1 win away from the finals. You will have 2 chances to earn a trip Wednesday night. What's it been like being a part of this team this season? It has been an incredible experience so far. I couldn’t ask for a better group of guys. Going from missing the playoffs every year to getting the first seed and one win away from the championship is really a great feeling. 2. You guys opened up a 3 goal lead in the 2nd period. What do you think the team did better in that 2nd period? We took control of the tempo and made them play our game and it worked greatly in our favor. 3. Yeti were missing a couple guys. Do you think that gave you guys an edge going in? It made them take longer shifts and play with tired bodies but they still worked hard and made it a great game. 4. Hooligans and Renegades in the other series. Who do you like in game 3? It’s really hard to say with two teams so evenly matched it could very easily go either way 5. Game 2 wednesday, maybe game 3 as well. Are you confident you guys can win 1? Absolutely I have 100% faith in this team that we can get the job done.
