Every year, the XHL gives out awards to players who have excelled in various categories. The MVP, Sportsmanship Award, Best Goalie, Best Defenseman, Rookie of the Year, and Most Improved Player are all voted on by the players in the league. Voting occurs in two rounds. The first round of voting is called the "Primaries". In this round, the top three vote getters in each category from the Primaries are placed on the final ballot (players cannot vote for teammates in this round). A "Final Vote" is taken with only those three players on the ballot. In the final round, everyone votes again, and they can vote for anyone, including their teammates. The top vote getters are then presented with an award during the playoffs to honor their accomplishments. Below is a history of these distinguished players and their accomplishments.
