Berta Factor: Lets Look Ahead
This season has been the most competitive season the XHL has ever had. There are five legitimate teams that can win the title this season if you look at the standings. So lets look ahead to the rest of the regular season….

The Colonials went on a tear by beating Rogue, Maniax and Wolfpack 2x. This was with the Anderson, Stamler and REITER all playing. They Lost to Voodoo without Reiter and will have to play without him for the rest of the season. They have one game vs Voodoo and Rogue left. Colonials will be 14-4 at seasons end. Now will they have enough to pull through the playoffs without Reiter. Anderson and Stamler have great talent and great role players/goalie around them so I think they have a solid chance. Anderson is a solid player and could carry any team to a championship.

The Wolfpack’s biggest test will take place against Voodoo on 06/29/11. So by the time you have read this article this game would have been played already. If the Wolfpack win this game they are looking at a top 3 seed. The Wolfpack are the biggest surprise of the season. I did have them making the playoffs in the #5 spot before the start of the season but now I see them at #2. Wolfpack beat Rogue 2x , beat Voodoo, kept up with a full roster Manaix team and took a Colonial team with Reiter to a shootout. They have Voodoo and the Maniax yet to play. Wolfpack finish 13-4-1 what a great season.

Berta looks ahead and sees a change coming this year, as he predicts the Voodoo will win the championship and the Maniax won't even make the finals.

BLOGS
Voodoo has their toughest part the season ahead of them. They need big win vs the Wolfpack on 06/29/11. Voodoo lost two games so far this season and both were by one goal each. If Voodoo can split the season record with the Wolfpack I can see them winning out the rest of the season. Voodoo is starting to play well together and they focus hard on defense with Boyd and Matchock. Capt. Llew is finally is at around 90% and Amick is reporting for Voodoo duty. If only the Mik can score more goals the Voodoo can finish at 14-4. Berta is five goals away from his 100th XHL goal. You don’t want to be the team to give up Berta’s 100th goal trust me I know him well!!!

The Manaix have been a solid team for the past four years but never had to play a game like they did recently. I have heard of Iron man but never heard of a team playing a man down. The Maniax played with just three players and a goalie vs Rogue and paid the piper for it. Cody Shuckers will be game to game at best now that he acquired a job in the State of New York. The Maniax still have a solid core to keep up the winning pace but will it last in the playoffs with all of the teams in this league being so closely matched up. The Maniax will miss Cody when the playoffs come. Maniax will finish 15-3.

Rogue the legendry team of the XHL has had on of its toughest years. They picked up a big win vs the Maniax this week and have two big games vs Voodoo coming up. Those will be two great games Amick vs Rogue or the game can also be called “The Domestic” Matchock vs Johnson (bromance that went sour). Either way these 2 games will be great. It will be heavy on defense and goaltending. Rogue will finish 13-5 and #5 seed.

Who will be the #6 seed? This is right now a battle between three teams Swashbucklers, Generals and Venom. In this battle for the #6 seed Venom will have the toughest road to get in. If Venom lose to the Swash on 06/29/11 they are as dead as Bin Laden. If the Swash beat Venom then they can wait all the way to the last week of the season when Venom plays the Generals. If Venom play the spoiler role well and beat the Generals is over Swash are in. If the Generals beat Venom then we are looking at a play in game for the #6 seed. Ill tell you what, Im all for the play in game. So lets say we have a play in game the Generals vs the Swashbucklers who wins. If the Swash can put the kabosh to Brown they win. Todd Brown’s play will be the difference in whether or not the Generals make the playoffs. I do see the Swash focusing on Brown and winning by two goals for the 6th seed.

So let’s look ahead to the playoffs seeding as I see it will be:

Maniax at #1

Wolfpack at #2

Voodoo at #3

Colonials at #4

Rogue at #5

Swash at #6

Round 1:

Voodoo vs Swashbucklers…this time the Voodoo are not coming from 1 days off and they have just played 7 games in two weeks. Amick and a healthy Capt Llew Voodoo in 2

Colonials vs Rogue… this series will go three games. This one was a tough one to pick but im basing it one that Matt will be a proud father and will be spending a lot more time at home. Congrats Matt! So with that being said Colonials in 3.

Round #2:

Wolfpack vs Voodoo… This series will be classic hockey all the way around. Each game will be won by one goal. This series will go 3 games in favor of Voodoo(sorry im in it to win it this year)

Maniax vs Colonials…This series will also go three games but without a full rost and Cody the Maniax will fall to the Colonials. They will key on Smith and Bert at the point.

XHL Finals:

Voodoo vs Colonials…Look ill just come right out and say it now…I have never been or never will be a fan of the Colonials. They are the dirtiest team in the league and what I like to call cheap shot players. They Are the Evil Empire of the league. Voodoo wins in two…Can I get a Woot Woot….XHL Gold for Berta!!!!!

One last Berta Factor before it all comes to and end…….there will be a bunch of exclusives in the Final Berta factor so u may want to tune back I for more…
