OFFENSE:

It is quite a testament to have a team that scores the second most amount of goals in a season, yet doesn’t have a player in the top give in goal scoring.  The Rogue’s success offensively has focused on one key word:  balance.  Their entire team is a threat, leaving defenses with no one player to plot against.  Whether it is Jason Iseler’s quick wrister, Dave Keith’s sniper shot, or Dennis Kirst’s mucking, the Rogue can score goals, and they can do it in a variety of different ways from a multitude of different sources.  Don’t look for this to change in 2008.

DEFENSE:

No team in the league plays better team defense than the Rogue.  However, the off-season saw the departure of two-time defenseman of the year Jeremy Johnson.  Johnson’s physical presence may be missed, but don’t look for the defense to soften up.  The Rogue allowed the fewest amount of goals against this year, an accolade they will most likely contend for this year as well.

GOALTENDING:

Even when a team finds a way to break through the Rogue’s stifling defense, they still have to contend with two of the league’s finest netminders.  Adam McKinley and Rob Keith will split time in net again this year.  The two of them have five of the league’s seven Vezina titles between them as the league’s top goalie.  Keith was especially stellar a year ago, with a save percentage over 90% and a measly 2.38 goals against.  In a league that sees so many goals, those are incredible stats!

OUTLOOK:

It’s easy to see why the Rogue contend for championships every year and or looking for their third straight title.  Balanced offensively, committed defensively, and solid in goal, there are no flaws to exploit.  What more can be said for the league’s most consistent team?
